Now a certain someone did a good job of hiding that!! Of course, I knew my best mate was starting a new job soon, but this was not meant to be for another fortnight! Sneaky, scandalous … quite brilliant!!
I hope that Jess enjoyed her first day in Marketing and Creative at a well known London publisher, and I know that she will be a great success. I also hope that they will not be working her so hard, that she is unable to fulfil her duties as the female voice of reason at Random Musings. Not only does she proofread the drivvle produced by yours truly and aliases, but she has also contributed the odd piece herself, most notably her take on the Six Nations.
More than anything, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank Jess for her unending love and support in the recent months since the death of my fiancée Dani. Jess has somehow put aside her own grief, for her and Dani were best friends, to be a constant for myself and Dani’s family. It is typical of the friend that Jess has been in the 8 years that I have known her, constantly shining but radiating at the darkest times. She has been loyal when at many times she could have walked away. I am sure that I speak on behalf of many when I thank you for your special friendship.
We all know that you’ll be a huge success in your new job and look forward to many good times to come.
