It has to be Christmas
Posted on December 25th, 2009 | by Rohan |So sitting here at 10.30pm on Christmas Evening, there are certain inevitabilities …
- I am very, very full!
- I am watching Love Actually … it was Dani’s favourite
- I’m discussing with my mum which ones of my vouchers she will swap for cash!
- There will be a Test Match starting in Melbourne in the next few hours … and I’ll be up to watch it
- When that starts, I’ll start warming the leftovers!
- We’ve been on the phone for several hours to family in far flung corners!
This year, there is of course a great feeling of loss and sadness. However, friends and family have gone out of their way to ensure that Christmas has been as enjoyable as possible. The wonderful hospitality of the Parieras, inviting us into their home on Christmas Day was so very gratefully appreciated. The opportunity also to spend some time with Dani’s family has been great.
As I have previously posted, Christmas is a very special time of year, and more than ever, I am so aware of the special people around me. I hope that all of you have had a wonderful Christmas.
