So why am I up at 5.49am on a Saturday …
Posted on December 19th, 2009 | by Rohan |Well I would love to say that sleep came easy to me at the moment, but it unfortunately doesn’t. I am assured that this will disappear in time.
On the upside, the Windies are batting although I’m not sure what chance they have of chasing 359 to win in the Final Test Match. For updates, I thoroughly recommend following Digicel Cricket on Twitter.
Nonetheless we shall persevere, safe in the knowledge that England vs South Africa starts at 8.30am, Liverpool are on Sky Sports at lunchtime, and my good friend Danny Morfitt will be joining me to watch his beloved Hull City take on the Gooners at 5.30pm. On top of this, I also need to meet Steve & his mum, my own mum, Louise, and then Louisa for her birthday … all offers of Diary Management gratefully accepted!
Yesterday was strange … nearly five weeks on and I still find it difficult to come to terms with the loss of my fiancée Danielle. The grieving process will go on for a long time I know but somehow I cannot help but think that I do need to break into some type of routine in the coming days.
Part of that will include going back to work next week, to which I fully look forward. Went to the work Christmas do last night, which was the first time that I had seen several people for a while. Amazing really that I found myself feeling more concern for their lack of knowing what to say. However, nearly everyone has been so supportive and it was heartening to find myself sitting for a meal and drink with two of my best friends, Louisa & Andy (he doesn’t have an opinion!).
Meal at Mechu was very good although by the time the veggies got down to our end, I was left with one sprout and half a roastie to go with my wonderfully done beef … ah well! Didn’t stay long afterwards. I think the Christmas revellers were beginning to arrive and I won’t pretend to be ready to party at this point. However, it was an important step and reasonably enjoyable while I was there.
Anyway, I am going to go and have a futile attempt at sleep on the bed, before no doubt ultimately falling asleep on the sofa and missing any if not all of my arrangements for tomorrow!
God Bless, speak soon, and remember to keep the hamstrings warm and loose!
